Insurance Navigation Services

Organization: Whitman-Walker Health

Insurance Navigators help WWH patients and DC (and counseling for Maryland and Virginia) residents with health insurance eligibility, enrollment, and literacy - connecting people to Medicaid, Medicare, Qualified Health Plans on the exchange, subsidies, and other insurance opportunities. Since 2007, Insurance Navigators work closely with reception and billing staff as well as medical, behavioral, and dental staff to ensure health insurance coverage for our patients. Navigators have been on the front lines of implementation of health reform as certified DC Health Link Assisters and providing critical consumer outreach and enrollment assistance to uninsured and under-insured DC residents.

Whitman-Walker Insurance Navigators can help eligible patients enroll in health insurance programs and get information on ways to keep healthcare costs low. Our full list of services includes:

• AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP)
• Coverage Dispute
• DC Health Link
• Insurance Navigation
• Medicaid
• Medicare
• Medicare Part D
• Open Enrollment
• Qualified Medicare Beneficiaries (QMB)
• Sliding Fee Schedule

Our goal is to reduce your out-of-pocket costs by finding the right options for you. This may include prescription drug assistance programs offered through pharmaceutical companies or screening you for our sliding fee schedule of discounts.
